How long does it take to launch a validator with Hexxagon hosting?
The validator node will be active within 24 hours from when the first monthly payment is received.
Do you accept cryptocurrency as payment for hosting?
Yes, we currently only accept cryptocurrency as payment for hosting (at the dollar exchange rate at the time of payment). You will pay for your validator hosting with the coin of the blockchain on which it is operating. This means that you can use your validator commissions directly to pay for your validator hosting.
Do you require multiple month's of hosting fees to be paid upfront?
No, we only ask for the current month of hosting to be paid upfront, and the current month you have paid for is your only commitment to us. We will remind you a few days before the next month’s hosting payment is due.
Do you charge a setup fee?
No, there are no setup fees required to host with Hexxagon. The only payments required are for each month of hosting on the launch date of your validator and each subsequent month thereafter.
Is your service non-custodial?
Yes, our hosting service is non-custodial. We never have access to your validator wallet seed phrase or validator wallet private key. We cannot perform any management actions on your validator node such as voting, withdrawing commissions, or modifying validator information, only you the wallet account holder can do that.
What do I need to move my validator to Hexxagon from another provider?
You need to ask your existing hosting provider to give you the priv_validator_key.json file for your validator if this file is not already in your possession, and you must send this file to us. This file represents the identity of your validator on the blockchain. Additionally, when we advise you to do so, you need to ask your existing provider to shut down the node they are running for you and get confirmation from them in writing that this has been done, to avoid any risk of your validator double signing blocks.
What is priv_validator_key.json?
The "priv_validator_key.json" file is your private validator consensus key, its used for hosting your validator and signing blocks on the blockchain your validator sits on, its recommended that you keep a copy of this file in a safe place as there is no way to recover this file if its lost.
